Twilight

At Christ Chapel, we strive to live a life of purity before our Father and our Lord Jesus. It's the least we can do considering what He has done for us. Besides, Father wants only what is best for us!
Recently, our leadership has asked us to examine our hearts concerning a series of popular books, "Twilight" and movies based on these books. I would like to extend this challenge to our children's workers. When working with children, we have an additional responsibility for innocent lives. Children are always looking to their leaders and role models, someone to emulate. I pray that you can say with confidence, "Follow my example as I follow the example of Christ." (I Corinthians 4:16)
Since the first mention of "Twilight", I have been challenged by the Lord to give up things in my life. None of these were sin or tempted me to sin. However, I can say with confidence that they didn't "look like Him," and I want to BE like Him! We are being transformed into His image, and that transformation requires change.
In Jesus, we have experienced the greatest love there is. I pray that both my life and yours will be consumed with that love! If you have any questions concerning this topic, please contact feel free to contact me or any of the pastors at Christ Chapel.

Helpers Needed

We are blessed with so much help in Children's Ministry! Thanks to everyone for all they do. Because of upcoming graduations, growing classes, and new ministries, we are in need of even more great volunteers. If you feel a call to work with children or just love children, we need both helpers and teachers. We also need people willing to work security at the end of the service. Below is a list of the commitment and times.

1. Helpers once a month in nursery through 4th grade classes.
2. Teach one month every quarter in 4-year-olds.
3. Helper for Pastor Corinne on Wednesday nights with K-6th grade.
4. Help once a month with security pickup at the end of the service.
5. Oversee dancers on Sunday mornings from 9:00-10:00 (You do not have to be able to dance).

Children's Dance Team

Many children and parents have been waiting for the Children's Dance Team to begin practicing again. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to offer classes. We are proud to announce that Leslie Simmons, our dance leader, is planning a wedding. Understandably, she wants some time off from teaching while she attends college and prepares for her future marriage. Should someone else feel a calling to lead the children, we will let you know. If not, Leslie plans to return to teaching after the summer of 2010. We are proud of you Leslie!

Family Conference 2009

In the fall of 2009, we had a Family Conference for our children and parents at Christ Chapel. We enjoyed the ministry of Michael, Michelle, and Michaela Tharpe as well as the Maas family from the International House of Prayer in Kansas City. During our conference, we learned more about the Harp & Bowl model for worship, learning to pray the Word of God while we worship in song.
Our thanks goes to the International House of Prayer for sharing with us.
